The Távora-Barosa was the first demarcated sparkling wine region in Portugal. Although the production of the drink was regulated in 1989, it dates to the 17th century, with the Cistercian Monks who inhabited the region. Be sure to visit the vineyards, cellars and taste the unique sparkling wines.
